About this policy
Philippine Bar Exam Buddy is operated by Atty. Ralph Sarmiento, also known as Dean Ralph Sarmiento.

This policy covers the free-sampler version of the Android app. Paid purchases and online subject-pack downloads are not enabled in this release.
Information stored on your device
The app stores your study progress and preferences on your device. These may include answer-opening counts, bookmarks, Needs Review markers, recall ratings, review schedules, last reading position, personal notes, practice answers, content-report drafts, and reading appearance settings.
The app uses this information to provide its review features and remember your choices. Your notes, answers, and study history are not automatically uploaded to us. You do not need to create an app account to use the free sampler.
Backups and content reports
When you export a study backup, you choose where to save or share it. Backup files may contain your study records, notes, practice answers, and preferences. The app does not encrypt these exported files. Anyone who can access a backup may be able to read it.
The app does not provide automatic cloud synchronization. Backup or transfer services provided by your phone or operating system operate separately, according to your device settings and the provider’s policies.
A content-report draft remains on your device until you choose to share it. Copying a report places it on your clipboard; it does not send the report to us.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you include. We use this information to respond, investigate problems, correct content, and handle privacy requests.
Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details, or confidential client information.
We use Gmail to handle support correspondence. Google processes information under its privacy policy:

Advertising and third-party services
The app does not include advertising or a publisher-installed behavioral analytics service. We do not sell your personal information or use your study records for targeted advertising.
Google Play and Android may process installation, diagnostic, and device information under their own policies and your settings. Where Google Play makes crash or performance reports available to us, we use them to diagnose and improve the app.
If you open a legal source, website, or this privacy-policy webpage, the website provider may process connection information, such as your IP address, and use cookies under its own policy. This WordPress website is subject to Automattic’s privacy practices:

These external services may process information outside the Philippines.
Retention and deletion
Local study records remain on your device until you delete them through available app controls or clear the app’s storage in Android settings. Clearing storage removes local study progress and settings. Save a backup first if you want to preserve them.
Delete exported backups separately from any location where you saved or shared them. Device-level backups are managed through the relevant backup service.
We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request, address related follow-up issues, or meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing barexambuddy@gmail.com. If we need to retain information for a legal reason, we will explain that reason.
Security
We limit access to support correspondence to those who need it to handle your request. Protect your device and exported backups with appropriate access controls. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
Your privacy choices
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, or to raise an objection or privacy concern. We may request limited information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records.
We cannot directly access or delete study records stored only on your device. You control those records through the app and your device settings.

Intended audience
The app is intended for law students, Bar examinees, and adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us.
Future purchases and policy changes
We will update this policy before enabling paid subject packs or introducing services that change how personal information is handled. Any necessary notices or consent requests will accompany those changes.
